E3 2009 - What's up
E3 2009 has started yesterday.
The most important conferences are:
01/06/09 - Microsoft, Eletronic Arts and Ubisoft
02/06/09 - Nintendo and Sony
03/06/09 - Square Enix and Konami
I watched the live coverage for nintendo today, and read a bit about the others. The headlines are as follow:
- Microsoft started creating something called "Project Natal" that's a mere copy of wii, but without a controller. Sounds pretty impressive, but also feels like it's gonna hold too many bugs.
- Metal Gear Solid : Rising for XBOX360
- Halo : Reach for XBOX360
- Front Mission Evolved for PC, PS3 and XBOX360
- DJ Hero, a "guitar hero" of DJs, for PS3, XBOX360 and Wii
- Assassin's Creed 2, for PC, PS3 and XBOX360
- Splinter Cell : Conviction, for PC and XBOX360
- Red Steel 2 for Wii, with a new engine.
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Wii.
- Mario and Luigi RPG 3 for DS
- Golden Sun DS for DS, obviously
- Metroid : Another M for Wii, first Metroid that's 3rd person shooter AND 3D.
I think that's it. The other ones (like Zelda DS and the two new Pokemons) were already announced much earlier.
Oh, and some more videos on FFXIII...
I'm really looking forward for tomorrow's Square Enix Conference.

Man... Square Enix's conference was depressing...
First of all, no filming allowed, but it was ok as long as I had live blogs.
The sad part is that the whole conference was about Final Fantasy XIV Online, which I don't like, don't want and don't care about. Worst, they spoke a lot but they just didn't say anything at all.
If SE's was like this, I'm not even gonna watch Konami's.
Veeeeery few good DS games were announced this time.
I guess all that's left for me is waiting for Golden Sun (yay).
(btw, new Zelda seems oddly boring. There's not much action in driving a train).

Square should really go into politics... All their press conferences are like this.
I'm super-excited about FFXIV, though. I loved FFXI, and lost 4 years of my life to it.

Actually you do, if it's an MMO. In the first week playing, you meet the game, you read about it's story, and it helps when you create a game. All the rest of the time you just play to gain levels, and that is a real waste of time ( lost 3 years playing Maple Story, btw ).

I don't believe time can be wasted, because you always gain experience (not videogame experience), and I think there is always value in that.

That's sort of what I say. You gain experience in the first two or three weeks, at max. The rest of the time you're just playing for levels.
But yes, you can't exactly "waste" time.
Why the heck are we talking about this, again...?
