Re: Story Mode
Agreed! That kind of stuff might be really fun if well done (with some background).

Re: Story Mode
Maybe some freak accident happens that causes rifts in time & space and causes some people to mutate, developing super-natural abilities.

Ok, THIS was random.
Superheroes-themed?
I'm probably wrong but I don't think it work quite well for a MMO...
But that's just one opinion. What do you guys think of it ?

I already played a super heroes themed MMO. It's My Heroes Ability on Facebook. I became totally consumed with it, last year. Granted, it was very bare bones, being a pure RPG based on text, but it managed to steal way too much time out of my life.

Re: Story Mode
We could have a tale (one of the books) settled into a superheroes world. With not only one of them, but a bunch of superheroes, and a lot of supervilains too.
Just an idea, though.

Re: Story Mode
Ha, an RPG full of super heroes and super villans would certainly be different. Someone mentioned time travel. How would that come into play? Would a character be a master of time and space and send people to different points in time to prevent some sort of catastrophe?

Re: Story Mode
Okay, so the resume of the ideas we had for the story:
- The game has a special items, books, and each of these books have a different tale written in them. However, they're incomplete (blank pages in the end). And once a character reads a book, he/she gets teleported to that book's story, and starts to live as one of it's characters, at the point where the story stopped. As a player, you have to complete quests in order to finish the story of that book. Once you do, you'll get more books (for any reason), and can access other tales. Each tale has a set plane and time. Some tales might be passing in the same plane, just on different times, and you have to travel to a past tale to change things in order to complete quests on the future tale, and etc.

Re: Story Mode
This reminds me of Chocobo Tales. In that game, someone opened an evil book that sucked up all the chocobos in a village. The player frees the chocobos by playing games in various books scattered all over the place.
So, what would be the main story for this game, if different worlds would exist in different books? Would players all be hanging out in some library?
